Autism acceptance will come with education. As parents, we need to help drive autism awareness forward every day.

I got to thinking how we can all help increase awareness about autism in the educational system. The key starting point has to be information and training.

This week is world autism acceptance week, and I came across a quote that summed up for me the challenge children and adults on the autism spectrum face to achieve equality and acceptance: "Autism is not a choice, but acceptance is."

As any parent of a child with special needs will tell you, the fight for their rights never ends. It seems that when resources are limited it is those most vulnerable in society who miss out.
