Many children on the autism spectrum experience social anxiety because they have difficulties understanding and interpreting social cues, nonverbal communication, and social norms.

My eldest has developed a social anxiety problem as he has entered his teens and this anxiety has become more extreme as he displays symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder, (OCD).

In common with many children on the autism spectrum,  both my boys suffer degrees of social anxiety. My eldest boy is the most impacted and also has signs of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
